Yes, it seems as though one of the most legendary studios in gay porn might be closing its doors for good, or at least downsizing in the extreme.

Over the last month members and affiliates have been commenting on the lack of unique content on the flagship website under the Falcon Studios Group of brands, with scenes being added from old and rehashed releases, some from equally legendary Naked Sword.

The last update (starring Sean Duran and Jack Hunter, from the Naked Sword movie “Ultra Fan”), was added to the site on July 20th, with the one prior to that (a scene with Brent Corrigan and Calvin Banks from the same NS movie) was added to the site on July 13th.

The schedule hasn’t changed, with one update per week, but the fact that they’re adding old content from Naked Sword certainly rings alarm bells in the industry.

When you combine this with the news that Hot House has stopped updating entirely (their last update was on June 28th) it only increases our concern for Falcon Studios Group.

Thankfully, it seems as though Club Inferno Dungeon and Raging Stallion are both still updating, the latter being one of the premier brands under the Falcon umbrella.

To be fair, the Falcon site itself has come in for criticism more than a few times in recent years, with their mass production of the same scenes over and over again. While the quality of shoots, the hotness of models and the standard of action has always been high, there’s only so many times you can watch this kind of formulaic porn before you start to become bored with it.

Just swapping out the performers, titles and settings every week and rotating through this stable of formulas can only last so long before fans are tired of it.

I don’t know what this means for the brand or what they could do to reinvigorate their content, but my assumption is they’ll be seeking to downsize and focus their efforts on their strongest websites, which I believe would be Raging Stallion and Club Inferno.

It would be a great shame to see such a legendary brand falling into disrepair. I’ve known of the Falcon identity since before I could get online and wank one out to their videos. The first gay porn DVD I ever owned was a Falcon release.

What do you think? Why has the brand declined in recent months and do you think they need to switch focus and distill their content, focusing on their most valuable properties? Leave a comment below and let me know.
